Inappropriate cement render being carefully removed, showing timber frame in poor condition. Trapped moisture causing damage to timbers.

Once wall had been repaired and new oak soleplate inserted, wall is re-rendered with lime to ensure longevity.

Rear gable wall again inappropriately rendered with cement restricting natural movement of building.

All cement render carefully removed revealing original timber frame. Brick infills repaired or replaced to stabilise wall prior to re-rendering.

Harl coats of lime render applied, followed by haired lime render coat prior to final lime finish coat.

The lime render is then subjected to 4 or 5 coats of limewash to retain breathability whilst allowing moisture run-off

After cement render is removed from the side elevation the true detail of the buildings design is revealed. Brick stabilisation and repairs to in-fills implemented. Rotten timbers replaced as required. |

Once again, lime rendering carried out leaving some timbers exposed to show the nature of the building's construction. |
